Webserver use, configuration and management

Unit WUCM1

The questions in Section A should be answered in the context of this scenario.

The British American Football Association (BAFA) is the National Governing Body (NGB) for the sport of American Football in the UK. As such, it has a role in promoting participation in the sport (as a player, coach, referee, volunteer or fan) and promoting competitions (e.g. leagues) in which member clubs can compete.

For some time now, the organisation has been struggling with an ineffective website. It is not easy for prospective participants to find a club near to them to join, nor for existing clubs and participants to find details of policies and procedures.

BAFA wish to develop a new web-based system that would help them perform the following business functions:

BAFA would like an appropriate domain name to be obtained for the site, in particular one that contains the name of the organisation. They would also like to maximise the chances of their website being visited by potential customers using search engines or web directories.

Your company has been short-listed by BAFA to plan, develop, host and support this system.
